5 benched IPL foreigners who deserve a place in the playing XI
IPL is one of the biggest leagues on the planet, the reasons for it being multiple. For the average fan, the wholesome entertainment that it provides is a game-changer, as is the case for the average domestic cricketers, who gets hauled into a different league and get to play alongside stars they have grown up watching. As for the experienced customers, there's the big money that lures them into playing one of the most sought-after leagues in the world.
We publish a list of five players who still haven't got a chance to play for their IPL franchises this year, despite being in the squad.
#5 Carlos Brathwaite - Sunrisers Hyderabad
“I spoke with coach Tom Moody and he was honest with me. He said my position in the squad is of a rotational player, and I will have to be patient for opportunities”.
Brathwaite is an honest man, and knows that he might have to warm the benches for the longest time for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, especially with the team doing well under Kane Williamson.
However, the West Indian can really be an impact player when the need arises, as he showed in the World T20 finals in 2016. All he needs is backing.
He's been on the receiving end of such a situation before: he played a combined 10 games for the Delhi Daredevils across two season, but his fiery batting and crafty bowling is an asset that cannot be completely left out.
