5 cricketers with musical talents
Cricketers are interesting people, known for their exploits with the bat and the ball. These human beings are highly talented in other spheres or life as well. AB de Villiers is an example of a multi-talented cricketer, he is known to also be a great hockey, football, rugby, tennis and badminton champ as well. Cricket has had an interesting tryst with music with quite a few legends of the game trying their hand at music too. Some have been successful, and some much less so.
Here, we look at 5 cricketers with musical talents as well:
1) Brett Lee
It is no secret that Brett Lee is a superstar in the world of music. Alongside his brother, he was part of the band ‘Six&Out’ which was very popular. Brett’s former band Six&Out were comprised of Brett, his brother and former cricketer Shane and his New South Wales cricketing team mates Richard Chee Quee, Brad McNamara and Gavin Robertson.
In the band, Brett played the bass guitar as well as contributeed vocals. Brett is also an accomplished pianist.
After that, Brett joined long time friend singer/songwriter Mick Vawdon and they have formed their own band called ‘White Shoe Theory’. White Shoe Theory developed a popular mainstream rock sound with a growing collection of guitar driven songs, highlighted by strong vocal melody and harmonies.
Indian fans will recall Brett Lee joining Asha Bhosle, a musical legend for the song ‘You're the One For Me’. It was a song written by Australian cricketer Brett Lee during the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy in India.
The lyrics were reportedly written in 30 minutes by Lee between practice sessions at the Champions Trophy.
