5 famous overseas players who did not shine at Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings need no introduction when it comes to IPL. They are the most consistent side in the history of the tournament, with eight playoff appearances in eight seasons so far. Several big names of the world cricket have played for the 'Yellow army'.
While many of those players stamped their authority with their exceptional performances, some did not live up to the expectations.
Let us now look at some famous International stars who failed to shine during their stint with the Chennai based franchise.
#5 George Bailey
The Chennai Super Kings bought the Tasmanian for INR 24.5 lakh during the 2009 IPL auctions. Bailey, an experienced T20 campaigner was part of the CSK squad from 2009 to 2012 but played just 4 games overall during his stint with the Chennai outfit.
In the 2009 edition, he played three games and scored 45 runs at a strike-rate of 115.38 with his highest score being 30. In the title-winning 2010 season, Bailey played just one game and scored 18 runs which happened to be his last appearance in the Chennai jersey.
In the next two seasons, Bailey did not get a chance and he warmed the bench. Bailey, who plays for Tasmania in the domestic circuit played for the Kings XI Punjab and Rising Pune Supergiant after being released by the Super Kings before for the 2013 IPL season.
