5 former cricketers that Zimbabwe would like to make a comeback
Zimbabwe are all set to host Sri Lanka in a 2-match Test series and an ODI tri-series which will also feature the West Indies. Although the current Zimbabwean team has some talented cricketers who come up with decent performances every now and then, they are nowhere near as good as the generation that preceded them.
The African nation used to be a formidable cricketing force for most of the 1990s and the early 2000s and had some world beaters in their team who excelled against the toughest of opponents. The lowest-ranked team in Tests would really want some of these stars to return so that they can become a threat once again.

Here are 5 former cricketers that Zimbabwe would like to make a comeback:
#5 Alistair Campbell
Left-hander Alistair Campbell used to be one of the most consistent batsmen in the Zimbabwean team and he is also one of their best skippers ever. Campbell performed particularly well in ODI cricket as he scored over 5000 runs in the format at a 30-plus average with 7 centuries and 30 fifties.
In the 60 Tests that he played, the southpaw had a tally of nearly 3000 runs at an average of 27.21 with 2 hundreds to his name. Among Campbell’s achievements as captain are a Test victory each over India and Pakistan and Zimbabwe’s phenomenal run in the 1999 World Cup which saw them qualify for the Super Six stage.
Till date, Alistair Campbell is the most successful ODI skipper for his country with 30 wins in 86 matches. Had it been possible for him to make a comeback, it would have solved a lot of issues for the current Zimbabwean team.
