#5 Gundappa Viswanath
Gundappa Viswanath was one of the finest cricketers India produced in the '70s. He always exhibited his best cricket against the Australian team. While his career average stood at 41.93, his average against Australia was around 53.03.
The Karnataka-born cricketer played 18 games against Australia scoring 1538 runs which include four massive hundreds. The right-handed batsman was consistently performing well against his favorite opponents, scoring 50-plus scores in 13 out of his 18 games.
Viswanath, nicknamed "Vishy", played a major part in India's famous win at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 1981, where he scored a match-winning hundred. He was also adjudged the Man of the Match for helping India win the match by 59 runs.
