Indian bowlers have come a long way. They have become more adaptable and reliable, one main reason being their improved fitness. India now have a set of bowlers who are ready for the big stage and who can produce match-winning performances.

However, a gruelling schedule of cricket awaits the Indian cricket team on their road to the World Cup. So, it might not be a bad idea to give some new faces a chance to shine in limited-over matches.

Sandeep Sharma has the rare ability to swing the ball both ways and also makes good use of the crease. He has been the backbone of Punjab's bowling unit in the Ranji trophy for quite some time now.

The inswinger is his stock delivery and every now and then he makes the ball hold its line. If given an opportunity, he could turn out to be crucial with the new ball and help India get some early wickets.

He burst onto the scene at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2010 and has grown from strength to strength since. He has played 35 first-class matches so far and has picked up 138 wickets at an average of below 25.

He has 71 wickets in 56 matches in the IPL and also has an impressive List A record - 55 wickets in 33 matches.
