5 Pacers to look out for in the Champion’s Trophy 2013
With the last edition of the 2013 Champion’s Trophy just a few days away, and with eight nations battling against each other to grab that beautiful trophy, every match is going to be exciting and electrifying. With the eight teams ready to taste victory, and no overwhelming favorite, this year’s tournament is going to be one of the most exhilarating and thrilling competitions.
Let’s have a look at the five pacers who are going to pose a threat in this year’s tournament:
1.Dale Steyn-This fast bowler from South Africa is the best bowler playing in this tournament. ‘Steyn-Gun’, as he is called for his dangerous pace, is the spear-head of the Protean’ bowling line-up. He was in a fantastic form in the IPL where he was the main bowler of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. Currently, he tops the ICC Test bowling ranking. With his speed ranging around 150kmph, Steyn is a regular wicket taker and a true match winner for his country.
2.James Faulkner- Faulkner, the left-arm medium pacer from Australia, had a great IPL season. In the warm matches he seemed a bit uncomfortable with his line and length and struggled a bit to bowl full and wide-his favorite line and length. He was the second-highest wicket taker in the IPL. This 23-year-old, with a 4-wicket haul and an economy of 5.25 in ODI career, is going to be a threat to every batsmen if he is on song and finds the correct line and length..
3.Jimmy Anderson-The English right arm medium pacer have got the golden opportunity to play the Champion’s Trophy in fields like The Oval, The Lords with which he is very much accustomed to. When he is in form, he is very dangerous but if he starts to bowl those loose deliveries, then trouble for England! With 229 ODI wickets and an average ranging around 30 runs, this country-boy should make it big in this tournament.
4.Lonwabo Tsotsobe-This left arm medium fast bowler from South Africa, who made a debut in the year of 2010, has been in prime form in the past few months. He got wickets regularly in ODI format of the game and picked up 68 wickets. Lending a good helping hand to Steyn and the entire team always, this guy is a regular wicket-taker and with his steep bounce and reverse swings and yorkers at regular intervals, his 10 overs in every match is going to be vital for his team and if Tsotsobe starts to strike early, then none can stop him; danger for the opponent!
5.Morne Morkel-The younger Morkel brother, with a massive height of 6 ft 6 inches, is capable of producing dangerous bounce and swing and even the yorkers are so perfect. He couldn’t do much with the ball in the IPL but with the English pitch giving him exactly what he wants, this right arm pacer is going to team up with Steyn-Gun and Lonwabo to bundle the batting side within the first 35 or 40 overs. With 102 wickets under his belts, this 28 years old is going to win some hearts and even break some with his fabulous bowling.
That is what I thought about the 5 pacers who are going to steal the show this time and help their team in winning the trophy. Whats your opinion?
