5 players who won the IPL in consecutive years with two different teams

Indian Premier League is known for its continuous shuffling of players. Teams are allowed to release players before the start of a new season. The released players are up for grabs in the next season's auction as they look to prove their former franchises wrong.

Despite winning the tournament, franchises sometimes decide to make changes to their roster, releasing the "so-called" weak links. But there have been a few instances in the IPL history when these players managed to win the trophy with their new teams as well.

Let us take a look at five such players who won the IPL in consecutive years with two different teams:

#5 Abhimanyu Mithun (MI-2015 & SRH-2016)

Two titles, Zero games!
Two titles, Zero games!

Abhimanyu Mithun last played in an IPL game on 12th May 2013 for RCB against KKR. Since then, he has won two titles in consecutive years – with two different teams - without playing a single game!

After Mithun's last appearance, he was bought by Mumbai Indians in 2015. He went on to win the title without even breaking a sweat!

The Mumbai franchise decided to release the player before next year’s auction where he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2016 season.

We are not sure if Mithun was simply lucky or a good-luck charm for the team, but he won his 2nd IPL title in succession, again, without playing a single game!
