The game of cricket needs no introduction to the children of cricketers who idolize their father since childhood. Their father is their first coach who tries to induct cricketing knowledge through his vast experience about the game.
Famous father son duos like Chris Broad and Stuart Broad, Peter Pollock and Shaun Pollock, Micky Stewart and Alec Stewart, Geoff Marsh and his sons Shaun Marsh and Mitch Marsh to name a few, have represented their nation at the international level.
There are many upcoming cricketers who will look to follow the footsteps of their father and make it to the big stage. Here is a look at 5 such cricketers:
#5 Jake Lehmann
Jake, the son of the former Australian cricketer and the current coach of the Australian team, Darren Lehmann has made rapid strides at the domestic level. The 24-year-old left hand batsman, is a middle order batsman like his father Darren and has represented South Australia at the domestic level where he averages around 42 with the bat in 32 First Class matches.
Jake is a regular member of the Australia A team and has played in Big Bash league too. He was in contention for a call to the national team for the ongoing Ashes series but eventually the Australian selectors preferred more experience in the middle order. It will not be long before we see Jake in the Baggy Green in the near future.
