6 Indian cricketers who made their maiden Test and ODI hundreds overseas
Often, Indian cricketers, batsmen in particular, are judged on what they do in overseas conditions.
Irrespective of how well they do in home conditions, somehow supporters seem to target either their record or their ability to replicate similar showings abroad.
There have though been few players who have been able to do that and have been able to notch up three-figure scores for the first time both away from home.
We look at six such Indian players in this list.
#6 Suresh Raina
The left-hander was picked in India's Asia Cup squad after an excellent maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 and in the opening match of the competition, he repaid the faith by scoring his maiden ODI hundred against Hong Kong in Karachi.
A couple of years later, he made his first T20I hundred as well overseas against South Africa in the World T20 and a few months post that, he was handed an Indian Test cap against Sri Lanka in their own backyard.
Raina grabbed the opportunity with both hands, stroking his way to a maiden Test hundred, thereby confirming the faith that was shown in him.
Having made a comeback to the Indian setup in the T20I series against, he will look to get a second wind to his career, starting now.
