BCCI released a jersey for the Wing Commander Abhinandan who returned from Pakistan earlier today as a tribute.

Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was held in custody by Pakistan which created a lot of waves in our country.

With a lot of speculations over what would happen to him, Pakistan president Imran Khan agreed to send him back to India as a goodwill gesture aimed at de-escalating rising tensions with India.

The official press release of Pakistan government said

“The captured Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has been returned to India today. He was arrested when his military jet MIG-21 crashed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir after being shot down by Pakistan Air Force for violating Pakistani airspace on February 27, 2019. While in captivity, he was treated with dignity and in line with international law.”

India was eagerly waiting to see their son back home. Abhinandan's return was the only news that flashed across many channels and social media with quite a lot of people appreciating him for his bravery. Indian cricketers took social media to hail the return of the warrior.

His parents reached Delhi last night to receive him. Abhinandan reached our country back after a three-hour delay with a lot of wishes gushing over him.

BCCI organized an event yesterday at Hyderabad to unveil the new jersey for Indian cricket team where MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Harmanpreet Kaur were some of the important players who embraced the event.

BCCI as a mark of appreciating his bravery, they released an Indian cricket jersey with his name “Wing Commander Abhinandan” imprinted on it.

With Abhinandan back home, people from both countries are hoping that tension between the countries will reduce gradually while a lot of personalities from India like cricketers, movie stars and business tycoons praised him and welcomed him back.
