Aaron Finch set to be ruled out for remainder of IPL 2015

Aaron Finch

Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Aaron Finch has said that the injury to his hamstring that he suffered during the game against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday is likely to rule him out of the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Finch retired hurt when on 10 not out after pulling his hamstring while taking a quick single in the fourth over of the match. He did not take any further part in the game after sustaining the injury.

Finch, who was bought by MI during this year’s auctions, has been a part of the playing XI for all of their three matches so far but hasn’t had a successful time, scoring just 23 runs at an average of 11.50. With Finch now unlikely to take any further part in the season, Lendl Simmons could be the beneficiary.

After undergoing a scan on Wednesday, Finch tweeted:

Mumbai Indians are yet to register their first win of this IPL season. They next face the mighty Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday.
