AB de Villiers is known to be an excellent football, rugby, tennis, hockey & badminton player

The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL 2016 season might be floundering at the moment, having lost 3 out of the 5 games they have played but they can take heart from the fact that they seem to have none of these problems whatsoever with a slightly larger ball, a football.

Cricketers work on a number of skills these days. Quite often, you seem them indulging in a bit of football to improve reflexes, flexibilty, to avoid fatigue and improve endurance. As seen in this video, playing football can also be a lot of fun. As many as 9 RCB players, including stars AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal & KL Rahul are seen playing a game of ‘keepy-uppy’. The objective of this game is to keep the ball in the air, for as long as possible, without letting it touch the ground. To make it even more fun, the players kept a bin in the middle of the group to act as a goal.

What transpires is an act of teamwork, skill and determination as each player gets a header on the ball before AB de Villiers dives and sets it up for KL Rahul, who had kicked off the game with the first header to head the ball into the goal. What ensues is that the players erupt in celebration as AB is heard telling Parvez Rasool, “teamwork you little beardie”.

RCB will certainly hope that they can carry this teamwork and cameraderie when they walk out to play the Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 30th of April in Hyderabad. A win would put their campaign back on track and might see them gaining momentum at just the right time.
