Anderson, Broad and Bell dropped for the ODI Series against New Zealand

Morgan will be without the services of Anderson and Broad

England dropped many senior players, including batsman Ian Bell, fast bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad, top-order batsman Gary Ballance, as well as off-spinning all-rounder Moeen Ali for the upcoming series against World Cup runners-up New Zealand in England. It clearly shows that the selectors have taken the recent World Cup debacle seriously.

Another name missing from the World Cup squad is Chris Woakes who is out with an injury. Only Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Mark Wood played in the drawn Test Series against the Kiwis. In the 14-man squad, Kents batsman Sam Billings is the only uncapped player. Morgan remains the skipper of the one-day squad.

National selector James Whitaker said: "It is important to point out that none of these players have been ruled out of playing a role for England in limited-overs formats in the future.”
