Andrew Strauss and Kevin Pietersen should end their feud over a drink: Stuart Broad

Andrew Strauss (L) and Kevin Pietersen

Ever since the ‘textgate’ scandal broke out in 2012, Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss, former England teammates, haven’t been on good terms. It only got worse when Strauss, unaware that he was still on air while commentating during the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) vs Rest of the World (RoW) XI game at Lord’s on Saturday, called Pietersen, who was representing RoW XI, “an absolute c***”.

Strauss was of the belief that the broadcasters had gone for an ad-break, which was actually the case for the United Kingdom viewers, but the feed was still live for the Fox Sports viewers in Australia; it made sure that the former England captain’s shenanigans were quickly circulated all over the world through Twitter.

England fast bowler Stuart Broad, who has shared the dressing room with both Strauss and Pietersen in the past, has offered a solution to end the ongoing tussle between the pair.

“They live pretty near to each other,” Broad told the BBC. “I'm sure Straussy will have KP round for a glass of white or red, and discuss what's happened. I'm sure the invite will go out.”

When asked whether the incident would, in anyway, distract the England team from its goal of winning the 5-match series against India, which starts on July 9, Broad rubbished the claims saying that their differences hold no significance to the team.

“Two ex-England cricketers having a bit of an issue is not something that is relevant to the England changing room,” he said.
