Arjun Tendulkar selected for Mumbai under-14 team

Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, has been selected for the under-14 West Zone league matches, which will be played from 20th January to 1st February. Arjun made it into the list of under-14 probables for the off season training camp, a month after his first century in May 2012. He slammed the century during the U-14 selections held at the Cross Maidan in Mumbai, thus kick-starting a career in Mumbai Cricket Association.

Arjun, who unlike his father plays left-handed, scored 124 for Khar Gymkhana, beating Goregaon Centre by 21 runs to enter the finals of the tournament. The 12-year-old, who bowls left-hand pace, also showed his bowling skills, getting an impressive 8 for 22 and helping Dhirubhai Ambani International School beat Jamnabai Narsee School in November 2011.

Arjun Tendulkar was born on 24th September in 1999. Arjun made his national level debut in January 2011 for the Cadence Trophy in Pune, and has been in the news since then. He scored an impressive 65 of 39 balls for the same tournament this year against PCMC Varroc Vengsarkar CA. He is often seen going to the stadium to watch and cheer for his father.

The team selected for the U-14 West Zone League Matches to represent Mumbai is- Akash Savla, Darshan Padare, Vaishnav Narvekar, Tanush Kotian, Arjun Tendulkar, Azim Shaikh, Omkar Rahate, Abhishek Shetty, Agni Chopra, Druv Vedak, Hashir Dafedar, Manas Raikar, Jay Dave, Jahangir Ansari, Yash Joshi.
