Ashes 2019: "It's always a blow, no doubt about that" - Justin Langer on losing Smith for the 3rd Test match
Justin Langer said on Tuesday that he expects Australia's batsmen to step up at Headingley with Steve Smith ruled out of the third Ashes Test.
Australia's leading scorer in the series suffered a concussion in the second Test at Lord's and did not take part in practice in Leeds on Tuesday.
Smith has posted scores of 142, 144 and 92 so far in the Ashes series but Langer says others will step up in his place for the third Test.
Marnus Labuschagne came in for Smith at Lord's, becoming the sport's first concussion substitute, and made 59 off 100 balls.
Australia currently lead the series 1-0 after winning the first Test at Edgbaston.
