Asia Cup 2016: Runs & Records of India vs Pakistan T20 Match

An India-Pakistan match is always an entertaining encounter, and the fourth match of the 2016 Asia Cup T20 did not disappoint as the two teams met for the first time after having last played during the 2015 ICC World Cup.

On what has been a predominantly green top in most of the matches, batting was never going to be the highlight. This was proved as Pakistan scored their third lowest total in T20Is after some excellent bowling by the Indian bowlers.

Mohammad Amir was brilliant on the night as he picked up the first three wickets of the Indian bowlers, sending back the openers for ducks. However, a masterclass of an innings from the Indian vice-captain, Virat Kohli helped set India on course for a convincing five-wicket victory.

Here are the stats from the match:

1 –  This is the first time that both the Indian openers were dismissed for a duck in T20Is.

3 – The number of times that India has picked up 6 or more wickets in the first ten overs of T20Is.

3 – The number of batsmen who were dismissed for a duck in the Indian batting innings. This is the most for India in a T20I match. The last two times this happened to India was against England in 2011 and South Africa in 2015.

6 – The number of consecutive T20Is that Ashish Nehra has taken at least a wicket in powerplays.

7 – This is the seventh time that Pakistan has scored a total below 100 in T20Is.

8 – India's score at the fall of the third wicket. This is the lowest that India have scored at the fall of their third wicket, the lowest having been 17 against Australia in 2010.

16 – The number of dot balls that Jasprit Bumrah bowled in his three overs (18 balls). He conceded two boundaries in the two remaining balls.

21 – The number of runs scored by India in the powerplay. This is the lowest that India has scored in the first six overs of a T20I. The previous highest was 24 against Australia in 2010.

42 – Pakistan's score at the fall of the sixth wicket. This is the lowest total for any side at the fall of the sixth wicket against India in T20Is.

47 – Pakistan's score after 10 overs. This is their second lowest total in T20Is against India after the first ten overs. Their lowest against India is 45/3.

52 – The number of runs scored by Pakistan at the fall of the seventh wicket. This is the lowest total Pakistan has scored in T20Is at the fall of the seventh wicket. Their previous lowest was 56.

66.33 – Virat Kohli's batting average in T20Is against Pakistan. In five innings, Kohli, who scored 49 for a man-of-the-match performance, has scored 199 runs against Pakistan in T20Is.

73.44 – Virat Kohli's batting average in T20Is while batting second. Kohli's average while batting first is 35.88. This is the highest average for any batsman batting in the second innings. Michael Hussey has the second highest with 52.62.

83 – Pakistan's score in the match against India is their lowest against India. Their previous lowest was 128 at Colombo in 2012.

83 – This is Pakistan's third lowest total in T20Is with their two lowest being 74 against Australia and 82 against West Indies.
