Asian Games Men's T20I 2023: Full schedule, squads, match timings and live-streaming details
Cricket is all set to make its comeback to the Asian Games eight years after 2014 in South Korea. Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field is all set to host all the matches in this competition, starting on Wednesday, September 27
A total of 15 teams participated in the competition namely India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Mongolia, Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Bahrain.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have already made it to the quarter-final due to higher ranking in the ICC T20I team rankings as of June 1, 2023.
Group A will have Afghanistan and Mongolia, Group B will consist of Cambodia, Japan, and Nepal. Group C includes Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand. Group D has Malaysia, Bahrain, and Maldives. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh make direct entry into knockouts.
The top four teams after the quarter-final will make it to the semi-finals. The grand finale is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 7
Cricket was first played in the Asian Games in the 2010 edition in Guangzhou, China. Later, the game was played in 2014 in Incheon, South Korea. However, the 2018 Asian Games did not feature cricket.
