Australia vs India BGT 2024/25 Test series: Perth Stadium, Perth pitch history and Test record
The 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) is the only series that can take place concurrently with an IPL auction. The long-standing rivalry between Australia and India will take on a new chapter. On November 22, the Optus Stadium in Perth will host the start of this five-match Test series. Meanwhile, we have the IPL 2025 mega auction on November 24-25.
After suffering a crushing defeat in the Test series, Team India will enter the rubber with some lack of confidence. The domestic 3-0 clean-sweep against New Zealand was unprecedented. Australia, dominant at home, will start this series as slight favorites.
Ahead of the BGT series, here are some important numbers you need to know from previous Tests played at the Perth Stadium.

Perth Stadium Pitch Report: 1st AUS vs IND
While this is not the traditional WACA Ground, the Perth Stadium will be almost similar to WACA's wicket. Perth is usually known for high bounce and good carry. Well, expect the same, especially on the first three days as well. Both teams have some phenomenal pacers and can really trouble the batters. Moreover, there are also chances for the cloud to cover the ground.
Having said that, once settled, batters will have enough chances to score runs too. The square boundaries are a bit longer as compared to the straighter ones. The exact pitch report will be telecast live before toss at 7:20 AM IST.
Perth Stadium, Perth: Last Test
It was the opening Test of the three-match Test series between Australia and Pakistan back in December 2023. The ODI World Cup 2023 champions scripted a dominating win in that game, with Mitchell Marsh winning the Player of the Match award for his all-round heroics.
David Warner started the series with a bang, scoring 164. Pakistan put up a fight but it didn't deny Australia from taking a superb lead of over 200 runs. In the third innings, Australia made 223/5, giving Pakistan a huge target of 450. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood took three wickets each to win the game for the hosts by 360 runs.
