Melbourne, March 3 (IANS)
Cricket Australia's (CA) Women's National Selection Panel (WNSP) on Tuesday announced its squad for the tour of Dubai from March 30 to April 13.
The team will play four 50-overs and two Twenty20 matches against England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Academy. Julia Price has been appointed head coach for Australia with Cathryn Fitzpatrick as her assistant.
The squad will be based in Dubai and all matches will be played at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy.
“These tours are a tremendous learning experience for the young players in our system, providing experience of overseas conditions as well as an intensive playing and training programme in a touring environment,” chair of selectors Julie Savage said.
“It is important to expose our players to differing playing conditions around the world to ensure that we are prepared for events such as the 2016 ICC Women's World Twenty20 in India as well as tours to these regions in the future.”
The squad: Megan Banting, Jemma Barsby, Samantha Bates, Nicola Carey, Piepa Cleary, Lauren Cheatle, Ashleigh Gardner, Grace Harris, Nicola Hancock, Delissa Kimmince, Katie Mack, Beth Mooney, Elyse Villani, Amanda-Jade Wellington.
