Bangladesh A lead by 57 runs at stumps on Day 2
India’s domestic treble champions Karnataka finished off with 287 after starting the day at 163/6 with some good performances from the lower order batsmen. Jagadeesh Suchith and Udit Patel scored valuable forties taking Karnataka to a respectable score. Bangladesh A in reply ended Day 2 at 188/3.
Bangladesh started their second innings on a much better note than their first one with Anamul Haque setting the tone for the visitors with a well made 89 of 87 balls. He was ably partnered by skipper Mominul Haque and Litton Das after Rony Talukdar fell cheaply for just 15.
All the three wickets that fell in the Bangladeshi innings were taken by spinners with Suchith claiming one wicket and Patel picking up two. Bangladesh now have a lead of 57 runs with the final day of play remaining.
At 100 for 6, Karnataka looked in the dumps but Shishir Bhavane and J. Suchith played well to pick the team back up before both fell with the score at 227. Karnataka fell short of the 300-run mark which looked a distinct possibility at one stage after Patel who scored 40 fell to Saqlain Sajib.
Litton Das and Soumya Sarkar who has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few months will start day three on 37 and 24 respectively.
