Bangladesh are favourites against India, says Soumya Sarkar
Soumya Sarkar, the emerging top-order batsman of Bangladesh cricket thinks his team will be favourites in the upcoming series against India. Soumya was one of the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh when they whitewashed Pakistan by 3-0 in the recently concluded One Day International (ODI) series.
He said if they continue to play with the same momentum, they might defeat India.
"To me Bangladesh are favourites. If we can continue our good form, then good result should come our way," he said.
The southpaw has been working hard and is ready to face the two-time World champions India in the home series.
"Whenever I get the chance, I try to bowl. I got a chance to bowl against Pakistan in the last Test and I tried my best. I also bowl in practice whenever I have the chance so that I can overcome the shortcomings in my bowling," Sarkar was quoted as saying by CNNIBN.
The all-rounder has set his eyes on the one-off Test against India. He added saying that he had taken lessons from his past innings and will be willing to capitalise on that against the coming visitors side.
"I already started preparations to become a good Test player. In the first Test against Pakistan, I could not capitalise on good starts in both the innings and I also failed to do anything significant in the second Test, but after that I began trying to mentally prepare myself for the longest version of the game. I started with how to understand when to leave the ball."
India is scheduled to play 1 Test and 3 ODIs matches in Bangladesh starting from June 10.
