Bangladesh name squad for India Test match; Rubel Hossain recalled
Bangladesh have named a full-strength squad for the one-off Test match against India on June 10 in Fatullah, the only change from their last series against Pakistan being the inclusion of pacer Rubel Hossain for the injured Shahadat Hossain.
Rubel Hossain, one of Bangladesh’s brightest performers in the 2015 World Cup, had picked up a Grade 1 left side-strain during the first Test of the Pakistan series in April and May. Shahadat Hossain, who was picked in his place, twisted his right knee during the second Test, paving way for Rubel’s return.
Reportedly, Mushfiqur Rahim will be captaining the side as well as handling the wicketkeeper duties, contrary to previous speculations.
The biggest changes in the India team will be that of Virat Kohli leading the team, and of Wriddhiman Saha handling wicketkeeper duties after MS Dhoni’s Test retirement.
Full Squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Shuvagata Hom, Taijul Islam, Mohammad Shahid, Rubel Hossain, Jubair Hossain, Litton Das, Abul Hasan.
