Bangladesh player Al-Amin Hossain to be sent home from World Cup for breaking team curfew
Bangladesh will send back pacer Al-Amin Hossain home from Down Under for breaking team curfew. The pacer stayed outside the team hotel after the 10pm deadline and will now be sent back after the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) informed the Bangladesh team management about the same.
The 25-year-old did not take permission from the management required for any member of the team to stay outside the team hotel beyond the deadline. The team manager, Khaled Mahmud, confirmed that Hossain will be sent back home ‘as soon as possible’.
“Normally if a player has to stay outside after 10pm, he has to take the management's permission. We were not aware that Al-Amin left the hotel after that time, and were later informed by the ACSU of his transgression. He will be sent home as soon as possible,” said Mahmud.
Hossain has not played a single match at the 2015 World Cup and has represented the Tigers on 11 occasions in ODIs.
Bangladesh have won the only match they played at the World Cup (against Afghanistan), while their match against Australia was washed out. They play Sri Lanka next on 26th February.
