BCB president accuses Dhoni of pushing Mustafizur on purpose
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hazsan has reacted strongly to last night’s incident involving Indian skipper MS Dhoni and Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman. "We didn't like what Dhoni did yesterday [Thursday] night. It [pushing Rahman] was never expected of him," the BCB president said.
And when asked if his team avenged the World Cup quarterfinal loss with last night’s win, he revealed that his team only plays to increase the friendship between the two sides. "We play to increase our friendship and only those who have grudges on their mind do that," he said.
He also spoke in detail about the controversial match which invoked strong reactions from the Bangladesh public. "[I] Don't want to get into what happened in Melbourne. India is a strong team. We are happy to improve against such a strong side. Nothing is kind of revenge. India has helped us [BCB] a lot. [BCCI President Jagmohan] Dalmiya has helped us a lot. Decisions in the World Cup were not taken by India. It was [poor] umpiring."
Dhoni was fined 75% of his match fees following the incident, and the debutant was fined 50% of his fee.
