BCCI President Anurag Thakur slams unethical Sandeep Patil for breaching confidentiality
Following former selection committee chief Sandeep Patil’s statements about the potential sacking of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and a few other confidential details, BCCI President Anurag Thakur has slammed Patil for being “unethical”.
Former Indian international, Patil, served as the selection committee chairman until before the New Zealand series and earlier in the week revealed that Sachin Tendulkar was likely to be dropped from the ODI side if he hadn’t quit himself and Dhoni might have been replaced as captain before the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Patil served in the selection committee for three years and only stepped down prior to the announcement of the squad for the ongoing New Zealand Test series and his comments came as a surprise to many, not just because of the nature of them but also because of its confidential nature.
Unsurprisingly, these statements haven't gone down too well with Thakur who isn’t happy about confidential details being in the public eye and also added that action will be taken against Patil by the “right people in the BCCI” and will also speak with him regarding the selection details that were spoken about.

"Let me make it very clear. Sandeep, being a former chairman, should not have made these comments. When he was the chairman, he replied differently to the same questions. But after that [his tenure], it was different. It was totally unethical of him to do that," Thakur said.
"One should refrain from making such unethical and unwanted comments in this area [selection matters]. It is because he has been trusted to become the chairman, because he has played enough cricket. There were four more selectors with him; they did not say anything. He should have avoided that," he added.
Speaking about the action to be taken against Patil, he said: "The right people in the BCCI will speak to him soon.”
The BCCI president also added that such a blatant breach of confidentiality would not make it easy for Patil to land too many jobs in the future. "Any organisation, if they hire him, will think ten times that after leaving the organisation, he will speak about the organisation," Thakur said.
