In the second BBL match on Tuesday, the Sydney Sixers face the defending champions, Adelaide Strikers as they try to seal a play-off place with another crucial win at home. After a rampant run-chase against the pace-setters Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney would be glad to have Josh Phillipe in good touch. On the other hand, the Strikers have faltered of late and would be desperate for the two points. With the SCG playing host, this match sure to be a thriller.

Sydney Sixers

Batting

Ever since their first match of this year's BBL, Sydney Sixers have not been able to finalize the second opener's slot with Justin Avendano and Jack Edwards used to little success. That problem though was addressed emphatically by young, Josh Phillipe who orchestrated a wonderful run-chase along with James Vince, against Hobart. Along with Daniel Hughes and Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk has been in fine form with 260 runs to his name in 11 matches. With an in-form batting unit, Sydney should do well against a very formidable Strikers team.

Bowling

The stronger suit of the Sixers team, the bowling has been impeccable with as many as three bowlers picking fifteen wickets or more. Lloyd Pope has also come good off late and has added another dimension to a wonderful attack.

Expected Playing XI

Josh Phillipe (WK), Daniel Hughes, James Vince, Moises Henriques (C), Jordan Silk, Tom Curran, Steve O'Keefe, Sean Abbott, Ben Manenti, Ben Dwarshius and Lloyd Pope.

Adelaide Strikers

Batting

After a few failures with the bat, the onus will be on captain Colin Ingram, Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald who are yet to fire in unison since their thunderous performance against the Thunder. With 301 runs, Colin Ingram is key to the Strikers' fortunes. Jono Wells has also been good with the bat while Jake Lehmann's inclusion adds much-needed strength to their unit.

Bowling

With one of the best T20 bowlers in their disposal, Adelaide should come back hard on the Sixers. The return of Peter Siddle completes their regular bowling attack and would be formidable on any given day. Billy Stanlake's ability to extract bounce will be key on a good pitch to bat on. Ben Laughlin has been good in patches and should come good on a pitch that would ideally suit his skill-set.

Expected Playing XI

Alex Carey(WK), Jake Weatherald, Colin Ingram(C), Jake Lehmann, Jono Wells, Matt Short, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin, Billy Stanlake and Peter Siddle.
