Big Boss 10 contestant Akansha Sharma alleges Yuvraj Singh smoked drugs

Akansha Sharma, who was evicted from Big Boss 10 late Sunday, has alleged that cricketer Yuvraj Singh smoked marijuana. The 25-year-old from Gurgaon, who is the former wife of Zorawar Singh, brother of the Indian all-rounder, said in an interview after coming out of the house that the all-rounder used to get intoxicated.

When enquired regarding her allegations of substance abuse by the cricketer, his former sister-in-law told Bollywoodlife, “As far as substance abuse goes, it was there in their family too. Whatever I did was with them. I smoked pot with my husband. Yuvraj also told me he smoked pot. It is a very common thing in the industry."

Contemplating a failed marriage with Zorawar, she further told the entertainment website, “Firstly, it wasn’t a marriage in the right sense. I was married only in paper. There was nothing in that relationship. I haven’t lied and I am pretty sure of whatever I have said. Nothing happened in my marriage. I am not backing off from what I said. Saying that (the) matter is sub-judice is the safest thing to do.”

Mother-in-law reason for broken marriage

Shabnam Singh, mother of Yuvraj, was also accused by Akansha of ill-treatment. Akansha blamed her indirectly as the reason for the marriage not working out, saying, "My mother-in-law now needs to say something to justify herself.”

Reacting to the earlier allegations made by Akansha, Yuvraj’s mom Shabnam Singh had said in an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, “First of all, this matter is sub judice and she (Akansha) is not allowed to speak. It goes under the contempt of court. There’s a special petition I had filed. Anyone can understand the agenda here and everybody knows it. We are not allowed to speak on this matter.”

Bigg Boss is a reality show scripted along the lines of the British television show Big Brother. The show’s format dictates the participants to be locked inside a house for three months with no access to the outside world.

These accusations could come as a big blow for Yuvraj, who is looking to make a comeback into the Indian national team. The left-hander is currently playing in the Ranji Trophy for Punjab and scored a century during the second round match against Madhya Pradesh, following that up with a double century against Baroda.
