Video: Bilawal Bhatti dismisses Mahela Jayawardene twice from single delivery

In the first Test during Sri Lanka’s tour to UAE to play Pakistan in 2013-14, Mahela Jayawardene had the rare distinction of getting out twice from one legal delivery.

Jayawardene had just made his way out to the middle and was batting on 1, when on the second delivery of the 29th over of the innings, he was found wanting by a back of a length delivery from Pakistani fast bowler Bilawal Bhatti. The ball caught the outside edge of the Sri Lankan’s bat and he was heading back to the pavilion, when he was told to stop by the umpire who wanted to check for a no ball. To the dismay of Bhatti, he had overstepped and Jayawardene made his way back to the crease.

However, on the very next ball, the 23-year-old pacer managed to induce another outside edge from the bat of Jayawardene and this time he did it having placed his front foot in the right place. As was the case earlier, Adnan Akmal made no mistake behind the stumps.
