Bookie claims MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina involved in match-fixing in CID report to Justice Mudgal

MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina have been named in a CID report on match-fixing

One day after a Justice Mukul Mudgal led committee submitted its report on the betting and match fixing scandal that rocked the Indian Premier League last year, there has been a revelation which could cause all hell to break loose if proved to be true.

Indian captain MS Dhoni‘s name has figured in a report sent by one of the investigator of the betting and match-fixing case.

G Sampath Kumar, the then SP, Crime Branch, CID (Internal Railways) submitted a report on January 17, 2014 to the Mudgal Committee in which kingpin bookie Utham Jain, also known as Kitty, has claimed that Indian captain MS Dhoni, also the captain of Chennai Super Kings, fixed the match against Rajasthan Royals on May 12, 2013.

The report says that Utham Jain, a bookie himself since 12 years, claimed that he knew about Hotelier Vikram Aggarwal, Gurunath Meiyappan and cricket players like MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina and few other players indulging in match-fixing.

The Mudgal Committee in its report presented to the Supreme Court yesterday had mentioned that there were enough grounds to investigate the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals which was played at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur on May 12,2013.
