BPL 2019, Match 32: Chittagong Vikings vs. Rajshahi Kings - Preview and Predicted Playing XI
In another rematch from the last day of the second Dhaka leg, the Chittagong Vikings take on Rajshahi Kings at their home ground, hoping to seal their playoff place with another dominant win. The Vikings have been fairly consistent with their team so far with minimal changes to their side throughout the tournament whereas the Kings have been fairly stable over the last week with the introduction of Laurie Evans and Ryan ten Doeschate.
In their previous match, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mosaddek Hossain were on song as the Vikings strode dominantly to their sixth win of the season. With a good record at home, the Vikings are considered clear favourites for the match although Rajshahi wouldn't be anything near just pushovers.
Chittagong Vikings
Batting
Chittagong have been brilliant with the bat and have no causes for concerns in this department. The main reason for Chittagong topping the table is the form of their local talent, especially Mushfiqur Rahim who is currently the highest scoring Bangladeshi in the tournament with 277 runs. He has been ably supported by Shahzad and Frylinck, who have been doing the job at either end of an innings with the bat.
Bowling
Robert Frylinck, Abu Jayed and Khaled Ahmed share 33 wickets amongst them which is a healthy sign for Chittagong who have been brilliant with the ball throughout the competition. Spinners Nayeem and Sunzamul Islam have done well in their brief stints with the ball with Cameron Delport being the surprise package of them all with five wickets to his name.
Expected Playing XI
Cameron Delport, Mohammed Shahzad (WK), Yasir Ali, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mosaddek Hossain, Najibullah Zadran, Robbie Frylinck, Nayeem Hasan, Khaled Ahmed, Abu Jayed and Sunzamul Islam.
Rajshahi Kings
Batting
After a dismal show against the Sylhet Sixers, Kings will be pondering changes amongst their local talent after yet another no show. Fazle Mahmud was the lone warrior as he scored a fifty against all odds while top scorer for the Kings, Laurie Evans failed at the top. Soumya Sarkar could come back into the side for Mominul Haque.
Bowling
The bowling unit is fairly settled with Mustafizur Rahman and Kamrul doing well, leading the pace attack. Isuru Udana or Qais Ahmed could come back in for Seekuge Prasanna to strengthen the bowling which conceded 180 against the Sixers.
Expected Playing XI
Laurie Evans, Soumya Sarkar, Zakir Ali(WK), Fazle Mahmud, Ryan Ten Doeschate, Christian Jonker, Mehidy Hasan (C), Arafat Sunny, Isuru Udana, Kamrul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman
