Doug Bracewell and Jesse Ryder admit to drinking before the first Test

Jesse Ryder has rekindled his love for trouble as he along with Doug Bracewell reportedly admitted to having a drinking session on the eve of the first Test against India. The boozy night out has not gone down well with the New Zealand Cricket authorities .

“Their behaviour is totally unacceptable the night before a match. We trust the players to make good decisions and the pair have breached this trust,” Sandle, the NZ team manager said in a short NZC statement.

NZC has started an investigation into the matter and is yet to arrive at a decision on the issue. The report is expected by next week. Even though both the players are not playing in the first Test against India, they are a part of the squad.

Bracewell was announced as the 12th man for the first Test, while Jesse Ryder has been roped in as cover for Ross Taylor, who will be unavailable for the second Test due to personal reasons.

Ryder is currently playing a Plunket Shield match for Otago in Nelson, which started on Thursday. With the IPL 2014 auctions scheduled in four days time, the incident will not do any good for Jesse Ryder and Bracewell.

This is not the first time that the two Kiwi players have had trouble with the NZC; both of them had received suspensions earlier in 2012 owing to behavioural issues.
