Champions League T20: Faisalabad Wolves finally granted Visas
Frantic lobbying from the BCCI saw Faisalabad Wolves granted visas for the Champions League T20 competition in India after the Paksitani team had originally been rejected entry to the country.
The Indian Express reports that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stepped in and granted the Faisalabad Wolves visas as it wants to maintain strong sporting ties between India and Pakistan.
The government had initially refused visas to the Wolves as it was not thought possible to provide necessary security arrangements in time.
Faisalabad will be part of a four team qualifier, from which the top two teams will qualify for the main tournament. According to the current schedule they will play their first match in Mohali on September 17th.
