Cheteshwar Pujara challenges "coolest chachu" Jaydev Unadkat to babysit his daughter
What's the story?
Cheteshwar Pujara has light-heartedly challenged his skipper and fellow teammate, Jaydev Unadkat to babysit his daughter after the fast bowler posted an adorable pic of himself with Pujara's daughter, Aditi.
The Background
Saurashtra qualified for the summit-clash of the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy after defeating eight-time winners, Karnataka in their own backyard by five wickets. Karnataka skipper, Manish Pandey opted to bat first on winning the toss at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Riding on half-centuries from Shreyas Gopal, wicket-keeper Srinivas Sharath and captain Pandey the hosts posted 275 runs in their first innings. Skipper Unadkat was the chief tormentor with the cherry for Saurashtra finishing with the figures of 4/56.
In reply, his side bundled out for 236 runs- courtesy a six-wicket haul from pacer Ronit More (6/60), thereby providing Karnataka with 39-run first innings lead. Wicket-keeper batsman Snell Patel top-scored for the visitors with a valuable 85 off 131 balls that comprised 15 fours. In the second innings, Karnataka scored 239 runs in 80 overs, thereby extending their lead to 278 runs, having managed 239 runs.
Dharmendrasinh Jadeja did the major damage with the ball picking up five wickets for 78 runs. Chasing 279 runs for a place in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy final, Saurashtra won by five wickets- thanks to the match-saving centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara (131* off 266 balls) and Sheldon Jackson (100 off 217 balls).
The heart of the matter
Meanwhile, Saurashtra players Jaydev Unadkat and Cheteshwar Pujara are the latest cricketers to be involved in the 'babysitter' banter on Twitter. Unadkat posted an adorable picture of himself playing with Cheteshwar Pujara’s cute-little daughter for which Pujara came up with a hilarious reply.
What's next?
Saurashtra will take on defending champions, Vidarbha in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy final from February 3-7, 2019 at the VCA Stadium, Nagpur.
Who will come out on top, well let's wait and watch!
