Cheteshwar Pujara gets married to fiancée Puja
Indian middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara did one of the most important things of his life ahead of the much hyped four-match Test series against Australia, getting married to fiancee Puja Pabari at a closely guarded family function on Wednesday. The Pujara household is hosting a reception today.
Puja hails from Gujarat’s Jamnagar district and is a management graduate.
Pujara gave the Rest of India-Mumbai Irani Trophy match and also the Board President XI tie against Australia a miss on account of his marriage.
Although the entire Indian team and BCCI officials were invited to the wedding, it is highly unlikely that his team-members would be present for the big occasion as they are busy giving final touches to their preparations for the Australia series.
Pujara, who has made nine Test appearances for India so far, scoring 761 runs with three hundreds at an impressive average of over 58, would, however, have to keep his honeymoon plans on hold as he would be joining Team India by February 15.
The solid right-hander is the latest cricketer to enter into a wedlock.
Delhi opener Shikhar Dhawan, who made it to the national side for the first two Tests against Australia at the expense of out-of-form Gautam Gambhir, got hitched recently while spinner Ravichandran Ashwin got married late last year.
