Chris Gayle took a potshot at Ahmed Shehzad

Shehzad, who is very active on microblogging site Twitter, earlier asked his fans to ask their questions to him using the hashtag #AskAhamad. Gayle, who is known for his tongue-in-cheek humour, used that hashtag in the funniest manner as he asked Shehzad(see the tweet below)

However, the Pakistan opener didn’t seem to mind too much as he sportingly replied

Then Gayle quickly tried to play down the humour as he heaped praises on Shehzad in his next tweet

Shehzad, this time, thanked Gayle for his concerns as he replied

Earlier, Kevin Pietersen and Grant Elliott, Shehzad’s Quetta Gladiators teammates in the Pakistan Super League, tweeted to show their support for the talented Pakistan batsman. Shehzad, along with Umar Akmal, was axed on disciplinary grounds by the newly elected national selection committee led by former Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq on Monday.

Shehzad and Akmal played for Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016. The tournament was a disastrous one for the men in green as they failed to make the semifinals. Shehzad had a decent tournament as he scored 126 runs in the 5 games he played.

About the duo’s exclusion, the newly-appointed selection committee head,Inzamam-ul-Haq said,“Shehzad and Umar don’t have enough performances and lack discipline,” He also had a word of caution for others, “Wherever there will be a disciplinary problem, we will take a step. And you should expect this selection committee to be a little stern on discipline.”

Gayle, who is currently playing in the IPL 2016 for Royal Challengers Bangalore, once again showed his usual ‘flare’ on social media as he literally embarrassed Shehzad with his satirical tweets.
