Kolkata Knight Riders' Chris Lynn to miss CLT20 due to injury

Chris Lynn

Kolkata Knight Riders’ Australian import Chris Lynn, after going under the knife to sort out a rotator cuff injury to his left shoulder on Tuesday, will miss the Champions League T20 tournament scheduled to kick off this September, reports confirm.

The 24-year-old, who made the headlines when he took a sensational catch to dismiss AB de Villiers in the IPL 2014, is not expected to be in action till December. Speaking on the back of his surgery, Lynn said that he could realistically be back in action for the Big Bash League, starting on December 18.

"There's never a good time to be injured but the goal is to be ready in time for the BBL if all goes to plan. The surgeon was happy with how things went and the Queensland medical staff are pleased it all seems to have gone to plan,” the Queenslander said.

"I'm pretty sore at the moment, and having spoken to a few people who have been down the same road, I know that there is plenty of hard work ahead. But I'm confident I will be up to getting back to full fitness and playing some good cricket for Queensland and the Heat in the second half of the season," said Lynn.

The big hitter’s last match was against Australia’s National Performance Squad in the ongoing A Team Quadrangular ODI tournament.

Knight Riders will face Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the grand event on the 17th of September.
