CPL 2016: Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders Live streaming, team news, prediction, probable playing XI
With 4 wins in 4 games, the Guyana Amazon Warriors are sitting pretty at the top of the CPL 2016 table and also hold an advantage of four points over the second-placed Jamaica Tallawahs. The Warriors emerged victorious in their previous match against the Patriots on a wicket that was helping the spinners.
The Patriots had chosen to bat first and put up a low total of 108 for the loss of 8 wickets. After losing Smith early in the chase, skipper Martin Guptill, and Chris Lynn made sure that the Warriors reached the target, winning by 4 wickets.
The Trinbago Knight Riders have not played since their loss to the Jamaica Tallawahs where the Tallawahs skipper Chris Gayle lightened up the stadium with a century. The Knight Riders are desperately in need of a win here against the Warriors to get their campaign back on track.
Live streams:
The LIVE match can be streamed on SonyLiv and also on the official page ‘Caribbean Premier League’ through Facebook Live.
Probable Playing XI:
Guyana Amazon Warriors
Batsmen:
The Guyana Amazon Warriors have stuck with the same combination of Dwayne Smith and Martin Guptill for the opening pair. Though Smith perished early in the previous game against the Patriots, skipper Martin Guptill gave the Warriors a blistering start, scoring 43 runs in 22 balls which included 4 sixes.
No.3 batsman Chris Lynn gave yet another good performance when he supported Guptill in helping the Warriors reach the target of 109. Jason Mohammed, Chris Barnwell, and Anthony Bramble were involved in the middle order collapse against the Patriots and the Warriors will hope that they will come good against the Knight Riders.
All-rounders:
Rayad Emrit bowled just a couple of overs but picked up the important wicket of Thisara Perera. Jason Mohammed didn’t exactly have a great day against the Patriots but bowled a couple of economical overs, conceding just 10 runs in the process.
Bowlers:
Pakistan seamer Sohail Tanvir and Steven Jacobs were fantastic for the Warriors in their previous game with combined figures of 8 overs and conceding just 26 runs with 2 wickets. Leggie Adam Zampa has been improving his reputation of picking up wickets at regular intervals with the passing of each game.
Veerasammy Permaul has been good throughout this tournament and will be expected to do well against the Knight Riders.
Probable XI: Dwayne Smith, Martin Guptill (Captain), Chris Lynn, Jason Mohammed, Chris Barnwell, Anthony Bramble (Wicket-keeper), Rayad Emrit, Sohail Tanvir, Steven Jacobs, Adam Zampa, Veerasammy Permaul.
Trinbago Knight Riders:
Batsmen:
South African International Hashim Amla and former New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum will most likely continue to open together as they looked like gelling well together in their previous match against the Tallawahs, putting 49 runs together in the powerplay period. Colin Munro seems to have found his form with the bat after scoring a half-century against the Tallawahs.
West Indies batsman Darren Bravo and Umar Akmal did not get a chance to bat in the previous match and will be rearing to go against the Knight Riders.
All-rounders:
Skipper Dwayne Bravo had an average game with the bat and the ball against the Tallawahs but did pick up the wicket of the dangerous Andre Russell towards the end of the game. Kevon Cooper was expensive, conceding 43 runs in his 4 overs, failing to pick up a wicket.
Bowlers:
In a game where the bowlers were smashed by Chris Gayle to all parts of the ground, Sunil Narine bowled brilliantly in his 4 overs, conceding just 9 runs and picking up the wicket of Kumar Sangakkara. There is little that bowlers can do when Gayle gets going and that is exactly what Ronsford Beaton and Suliemann Benn faced against the Tallawahs and will want to do better against the Knight Riders.
Probable XI:
Hashim Amla, Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Umar Akmal (Wicket-keeper), Dwayne Bravo (Captain), Kevon Cooper, Javon Searles, Sunil Narine, Ronsford Beaton, Suliemann Benn.
Prediction:
The Trinbago Knight Riders came so close to winning their second game and most certainly would have if Chris Gayle had not gotten a century. A similar performance could make them win against the Amazon Warriors.
