CPL 2016: Jamaica Tallawahs vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Live Streaming, Team News, Probable XI, Prediction

Chris Gayle (R) will hold the key for the Tallawahs

Team news:

The Jamaica Tallawahs won their previous match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 5 wickets. After winning the toss, the Tallawahs had opted to field first and did a fine job of restricting the Warriors to a total of 128. Pakistan all-rounder, Imad Wasim put up a brilliant display of seam bowling, picking up 2 wickets while conceding just 12 runs in 4 overs. Though the Tallawahs got off to a shaky start, Shakib Al Hasan and Chris Gayle guided them home with 4 overs to spare.

The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were beaten in their previous match against the Barbados Tridents by 25 runs. The Patriots had to chase a target of 181 as set by the Tridents but could not keep up with the required rate and slumped to another defeat. Skipper Faf du Plessis and Jonathan Carten were the top-scorers for the Patriots.

The LIVE match can be streamed on SonyLiv and also on the official page ‘Caribbean Premier League’ through Facebook Live.

Probable Playing XI:

Jamaica Tallawahs:

Batsmen:

Chadwick Walton has been opening for the Tallawahs but has not been batting with consistency. Skipper Chris Gayle will be expected to open alongside Walton and set up a good platform for the middle-order. Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara will most likely continue at the No.3 position and could make an impact against the Patriots. Middle-order batsman Andre McCarthy opened alongside Walton in the previous game and will need to improve on his performances.

All-rounders:

Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan proved to be a match-winner against the Warriors in the previous match and the Tallawahs will hope that he continues his fine form against the Patriots. Imad Wasim has been bowling at his best for the Tallawahs, conceding just 12 runs in his 4 overs and picking up 2 important wickets in the process.

Bowlers:

South African seamer Dale Steyn has been leading the bowling attack for the Tallawahs and is doing a fine job at that. All-rounder Andre Russell has been bowling with good pace, consistency and will be a key player for the Tallawahs in the bowling department.

Probable XI: Chadwick Walton, Chris Gayle (Captain), Kumar Sangakkara (Wicket-keeper), Rovman Powell, Shakib Al Hasan, Andre Russell, Andre McCarthy, Dale Steyn, Imad Wasim, Kesrick Williams, Garey Mathurin.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:

Batsmen:

Opener Lendl Simmons had a rare failure in his previous game against the Tridents and will be raring to go against the Tallawahs. Skipper Faf du Plessis showed glimpses of getting back to form, scoring 42 off 34 in his previous game and the Patriots will hope that he performs at his best in the coming games.

Former Australian batsman Brad Hodge has not had a great season in the CPL. Jonathan Carter gave the Patriots some hope of chasing the target set by the Tridents and played a calm innings to support the skipper.

All-rounders:

JJ Smuts has been bowling with the new ball for the Patriots and though being expensive at times, he has picked up crucial wickets and helped the Patriots get a breakthrough with the new ball. Hodge can bowl a few overs of off-spin.

Bowlers:

Spinners Samuel Badree and Tabraiz Shamsi have been the key bowlers for the Patriots and will be expected to do well against the Tallawahs.

Probable XI: Lendl Simmons, JJ Smuts, Faf du Plessis (captain), Brad Hodge, Jonathan Carter, Devon Thomas (wicket-keeper), Sheldon Cottrell, Samuel Badree, Tabraiz Shamsi, Alzarri Joseph, Kieran Powell.

Prediction: The Tallawahs will start off as favorites against the Patriots and Chris Gayle’s innings will be a decisive factor.
