CPL 2016: St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Barbados Tridents live streaming, team news, prediction, probable playing XI
The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were at the top of their game when they beat the St Lucia Zouks by a huge margin of 58 runs in the CPL 2016. After being put into bat by the Zouks, openers Simmons and Lewis provided the perfect start for the Patriots. Lewis top scored with 73 runs while Devon Thomas put up a great show, scoring 48 runs in 27 deliveries.
The Patriots scored the highest total for this season (203) and the Zouks were left clueless as they could achieve only 145 in 20 overs with Shane Watson being the top scorer (55 in 31 deliveries).
The Barbados Tridents have played only a single game in this season so far which ended in a loss against the Trinbago Knight Riders. The Tridents got off to a great start with the ball but could not stop Hashim Amla and Dwayne Bravo from staging the perfect fight back. The Tridents had to chase a target of 171 but fell short by 11 runs.

Probable Playing XI:
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:
Batsmen:
Openers Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis led the attack against the St Lucia Zouks, putting up a partnership of 69 in 6 overs. Simmons scored 30 runs with a strike-rate of 187 while Man of the Match Evin Lewis was scoring at a strike-rate of over 200.
The Patriots will be ecstatic with their openers doing a fabulous job and will hope they can continue their good form against the Tridents. Skipper Faf du Plessis came in to bat at No.3 and had a good opportunity to score some runs after the openers had set the platform, but was dismissed after scoring just 9 runs.
Wicket-keeper Devon Thomas has been continuing his good run at the tournament, scoring 48 runs in 27 deliveries at a strike-rate of 177. Australian Brad Hodge came to bat lower down the order and did not have time to make any impact.
All-rounders:
Jonathan Carter, Thisara Perera, and Carlos Brathwaite have been full-filling their responsibilities for the Patriots. Perera bowled exceptionally well in his 3 overs, conceding 14 runs and picking up a wicket as well. Brathwaite conceded 32 runs in his 4 overs and picked up a wicket.
Bowlers:
Krishmar Santokie has been leading the attack for the Patriots but had an off game against the Zouks. Spinners Samuel Badree and Tabraiz Shamsi have done a great job so far for the Patriots and will most likely continue against the Tridents.
Probable XI: Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Faf du Plessis (Captain), Devon Thomas (Wicket-keeper), Brad Hodge, Jonathan Carter, Thisara Perera, Carlos Brathwaite, Krishmar Santokie, Samuel Badree, Tabraiz Shamsi.
Barbados Tridents:
Batsmen:
American batsman Steven Taylor opened for the Tridents scored 37 runs which included a couple of sixes and a boundary. West Indian opener Kyle Hope opened alongside Taylor but disappointed as he was dismissed by 11 runs in 13 deliveries.
If given another chance, Hope will have to perform well against the Patriots. Pakistan batsman Shoaib Malik made a good start but could not carry on for the Tridents, scoring 28 runs. Mr. 360 AB de Villiers could not find his form with the bat as he made 12 runs. Wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran surprised all by smashing 33 runs 12 deliveries which included 3 sixes and a couple of boundaries.
All-rounders:
Skipper Kieron Pollard registered a golden duck and had a forgettable match against the Trinbago Knight Riders. There is no doubt in Pollard’s ability with the bat and he will be hoping to come good against the Patriots. South African all-rounder David Wiese was expensive with the ball and was, unfortunately, run-out when he came to bat against the Knight Riders.
Bowlers:
Seamers Ravi Rampaul and Wayne Parnell will lead the bowling attack for the Tridents while Akeal Hosein and Ashley Nurse could again lead the spin attack. Hosein was the pick of the bowlers for the Tridents against the Knight Riders, conceding 18 runs and picking up 2 wickets in his quota of 4 overs.
Prediction:
The Patriots have a more experienced batting attack when compared to the Tridents and will look to use that as an advantage against them.
