CPL 2016: St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to face Guyana Amazon Warriors
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors on June 30 at the Warner Park. For the first three seasons of the Hero CPL, Lendl Simmons was an Amazon Warrior but he has made the move to St Kitts for this year. He has said he is exciting to get going with his new team.
“It is always a good feeling to be part of a new franchise. As time goes on I will see how I fit it, hopefully I will fit in well. There are a lot of guys here that I have played with already so I don’t think it will be a big deal.”
Simmons has been struggling with injury in recent months, but is confident of being fit enough to have an impact on this year’s Hero CPL.
“I have been doing rehab work for the past three months so I am feeling better, I am getting back to fitness and I am working my way there, I am at about 95% so hopefully when the tournament kicks off I will be fully fit.”
Speaking of his new team, Simmons said that he feels they are well balanced and should be very competitive.
“I think we have a very good balanced team, a lot of seasoned players. We have a good team on paper, we need to get out in the middle and execute. We will see how it goes in the first game and take it from there.”
