CPL 2016: Trinbago Knight Riders vs Jamaica Tallawahs live streaming, team news, prediction, probable playing XI

Munro scored the first century of CPL 2016

Trinbago Knight Riders face Jamaica Tallawahs in the Carribean Premier League 2016.

The Trinbago Knight Riders were beaten by the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 6 wickets even after the heroics of Colin Munro. The Knight Riders finished on a high when Munro smashed the first century of this season but the Warriors were up to the task as they achieved the target with 4 balls to spare, credits to the Australian batsman Chris Lynn for scoring 77 runs in 43 deliveries.

Jamaica Tallawahs registered their first victory of this season against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Skipper Chris Gayle looked in good touch as he smashed a fifty in just 36 deliveries. Andre Russell and Imad Wasim scored some important runs towards the end of the Tallawahs innings, helping them to a total of 153. Seamers Dale Steyn and Kesrick Williams were the pick of the bowlers for the Tallawahs.

Probable Playing XI:

Trinbago Knight Riders:

Batsmen:

Former Kiwi International Brendon McCullum was dismissed on the very first ball against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The swashbuckling batsman has failed to get going in the 3 matches that he has played so far for the Knight Riders. After a heroic innings against the Barbados Tridents, Hashim Amla could manage only 6 runs against the Amazon Warriors.

New Zealand batsman Colin Munro was the star performer for the Knight Riders as he became the first player to score a century this season. Munro got to his century in 65 balls.

West Indian batsman Darren Bravo started this tournament superbly with his fifty against the St Lucia Zouks but has been a shadow of himself in the next 2 games. Pakistan middle order batsman Umar Akmal has also struggled to get going for the Knight Riders and will need to get himself back to form.

All-rounders:

Skipper Dwayne Bravo had a decent game against the Warriors where he picked up 2 wickets and conceded 34 runs in his 4 overs. Kevon Cooper was a touch expensive against the Warriors, conceding 38 runs in 3 overs. These all-rounders will have to perform well in the batting department as well to give the Knight Riders an advantage over the opposition.

Bowlers:

Ronsford Beaton surprisingly was given only 1 over against the Warriors and could not make any impact in the game. The Knight Riders have gone with 3 spinners in all their games so far and will most likely continue with Nikita Miller, Suliman Benn, and Sunil Narine

Probable XI: Brendon McCullum, Hashim Amla, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Umar Akmal (Wicket-keeper), Dwayne Bravo (Captain), Kevon Cooper, Ronsford Beaton, Nikita Miller, Sulieman Benn, Sunil Narine.

Jamaica Tallawahs:

Batsmen:

Chris Gayle will most likely continue to open for the Tallawahs after his impressive start to this season. Chadwick Walton was given the opportunity to open the batting alongside Gayle but did not last long at the crease. Walton will have to make the best use of his chances and give the Tallawahs a good start at the top.

Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara made a steady start but could not convert it to a big score and will be hoping to come good against the Knight Riders. Youngster Rovman Powell was given an opportunity against the Patriots and could score only 4 runs in 7 deliveries.

All-rounders:

The Tallawahs have some good all-rounders in the form of Andre Russell (who scored 34 runs in 20 deliveries against the Patriots) and Imad Wasim. While Russell did not feature in the bowling attack, Wasim picked up a wicket in his 2 overs, conceding 21 runs. The Tallawahs have the Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in their arsenal and can use him well in the bowling attack.

Bowlers:

South African pacer Dale Steyn and Kesrick Williams bowled exceptionally well against the Patriots and restricted them below the target. American bowler Timroy Allen was expensive as he conceded 38 runs in 3 overs. Jon-Russ Jaggesar bowled well, conceding 18 runs in his 3 overs and picking up a wicket as well.

Probable XI: Chris Gayle (Captain), Chadwick Walton, Kumar Sangakkara (Wicket-keeper), Rovman Powell, Andre Russell, Imad Wasim, Shakib Al Hasan, Dale Steyn, Kesrick Williams, Timroy Allen, Jon-Russ Jaggesar.

Prediction

The Jamaica Tallawahs have a strong batting line-up and most importantly they are in good form so they will start off as favorites against the Knight Riders.
