Barbados Tridents will look to return to their winning ways when they go up against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 22nd game of the CPL 2018 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Friday, August 31. Both teams have faced each other on ten occasions in the Caribbean Premier League with the warriors leading the scoreline 6-4.

In their most recent clash on August 13 this season, Tridents emerged victorious by 30 runs. Batting first, the Tridents scored 185/4 in their allotted 20 overs and then restricted the Warriors to 155/8.

Tridents have won two and lost four out of the six league matches they have played so far and are currently lying at the bottom of the CPL 2018 standings with four points. Tridents lost three back to back games against Patriots, Trinbago and Tallawahs by six, four and five wickets respectively.

Batting: Shai Hope has been the most reliable batsman for Barbados Tridents in this year's CPL. He scored 88 off 45 balls in the reverse fixture and the team will be hoping that he is able to fire for them once again. While Martin Guptill finally got back amongst the runs with a 60-ball 73 last time against Jamaica Tallawahs and he will be expected to continue from where he left off. They will also look after Steven Smith to get some runs upfront.

Bowling: Wahab Riaz was the pick of the bowlers against the Tallawahs and the skipper will most likely turn to him for getting the breakthroughs at crucial moments. While Ashley Nurse had bowled reasonably well in the earlier encounter against the Warriors and his off-spin could be effective on this surface

Warriors are currently positioned third in the CPL 2018 standings with eight points after having won four and lost two out of the six matches. Rayad Emrit has taken over the captaincy duties after Shoaib Malik has returned to Pakistan to prepare for the forthcoming Asia Cup.

Batting: Shimron Hetmyer and Luke Ronchi are the key figures for Guyana Amazon Warriors when it comes to batting. Hetmyer is featuring amongst the top five batsmen of the season with 238 runs which include one century and a half-century. Ronchi is due for a big knock and the team will be hoping that he is able to fire this time around.

Bowling: Imran Tahir, Keemo Paul and Chris Green are the main threats in this bowling attack. Tahir is one of the leading wicket-takers with 11 wickets in 6 matches and he is more likely to finish with the best bowling figures. While Paul and Tahir can fox the batsmen with their variations and the Skipper will need these two to get some early breakthroughs.
