Commentary has always been one of the most important aspects of sports broadcasting over the years. The game of cricket is no exception to this and has seen some really fine commentators from different countries who have enthralled TV and radio audiences from time to time with their voice.

A high percentage of the commentators who have been covering the sport are former cricketers, many of them being legends. Taking this into account, we have tried to come up with a Commentators XI which includes some of the most popular cricketers-turned-commentators in world cricket.
Here’s a look at the team we have picked
#1 Sunil Gavaskar
Opening the batting for our commentators XI is Indian batting legend, Sunil Gavaskar. The iconic cricketer from Mumbai was the first man to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket and also held the record for the most centuries in the format (34) until his fellow countryman Sachin Tendulkar went past him in 2005.
Post retirement, Gavaskar has earned the reputation of being among India’s most popular cricket commentators. Over the years, the ‘Little Master’ has covered numerous tournaments involving Team India as part of the BCCI’s commentary team, while also being a regular in the Indian Premier League.
