Video: Faf du Plessis thrilled to get a T20 series win against India
Proteas Cricket posted their third video of ‘India Tour Diaries’ on YouTube where Faf du Plessis, Farhaan Behardien, Kagiso Rabada, Eddie Leie and coach Russel Domingo expressed their delight in defeating India at home in the T20 series. Although the third and final T20 was washed out, the South Africans won the three-match series with one game to spare.
South African T20 captain Faf du Plessis was thrilled with the bowling performance of his bowlers at Cuttack, where they bowled out India for a measly 92. The visitors were very clinical in all departments and won the match by six wickets and with three overs to spare.
All the South Africans players were thrilled with their efforts winning both the games in a convincing manner. Farhaan Behardien and coach Russell Domingo stressed about how it was not an easy feat to come to the subcontinent and beat “one of the best sides in the world”.
20-year-old fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was lauded by his coach and teammates for his immense efforts in the two T20Is. Rabada even reached the 150 kph mark in the second T20 which pleased Domingo. This shows that the young bowler has a lot of potential in growing to become a real asset for the Proteas in the years to come.
However, the youngster rated his own performance as only ‘reasonably good’ and felt that he could perform a lot better in the future. But that did not stop him from celebrating by eating biltong, which is a South African dish made from dried and cured meat. Albie Morkel, who was playing his 50th T20I was the Man-of-the-Match for his exceptional bowling performance, picking up three wickets for 24 runs.
The Proteas will be looking to continue their T20 form in the ODI series too when they play the first of the five-match series on October 11 at Kanpur. India will be looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing show in the T20Is.
