Video: Relive the moment that Yuvraj Singh touched Sachin Tendulkar's feet

Yuvraj Singh (R) touching his idol's – Sachin Tendulkar – feet during the Lord's bicentenary match

Sachin Tendulkar was a revered cricketer, both by fans and players alike. Even after he has retired –  in 2013 –  he is still being held with the same respect when he makes public appearances. He is widely considered as the "God of cricket”, at least by millions of Indian cricket fans.

One incident that stands out in terms of respect and reverence is when Yuvraj Singh took it to the next level by touching Sachin Tendulkar's feet during a game. This happened in 2014 during the bicentenary celebrations of the Lord's Cricket Ground. The match was held between Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Rest Of the World (ROW). MCC was captained by Sachin Tendulkar, and ROW, captained by Shane Warne, had Yuvraj Singh in the starting XI.

Yuvraj Singh batted brilliantly in the match that took place at the Lord's on July 5, 2014. Batting first, Yuvraj powered his side to a competitive total of 293 by scoring 132 runs. During his scintillating innings, Yuvraj ran over to Tendulkar and touched the maestro's feet after the latter completed bowling the 41st over. This was followed by loud cheers from the spectators at Lord's.

In the below video, the touching moment happens at 0:28. Tendulkar reacted to the Yuvraj's gesture with a friendly pat on the back of the centurion.

The Indian Little Master scored 44 in reply to ROW's total, which included a stand of 107 with Australian batsman Aaron Finch. Finch went on to score an unbeaten 181 to lead MCC to a convincing victory.

Yuvraj repeated the same gesture during the 2015 edition of the  Indian Premier League (IPL). Yuvraj has always spoken about Tendulkar's support and guidance in his career. Both the players led India to World Cup glory in 2011. Recently, Yuvraj mentioned about how the Indian legend's words are a driving force for him to try and earn a place in the national squad.
