Netherlands have announced a 15-member squad led by Scott Edwards for the upcoming ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 squad, scheduled to be played in India from October 5 to November 19. They have retained their core players who helped them reach the top two of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 in Zimbabwe to qualify for the 50-over event.

The Dutch qualified for the 2023 World Cup by reaching the Super Six of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers and then finishing in the top two. They had equal points as Scotland and Zimbabwe (six points) but a better Net Run Rate (NRR), which was enough to help them book their berth in the ODI World Cup.

Captain Edwards, Max O’Dowd, and Wesley Barresi have completed over 1,000 runs for the Dutch in the tournament. They will look to leave an impact on the marquee ICC event. The trio recently scored 314 runs (seven games), 299 (eight matches), and 223 (eight games), respectively in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.

Teja Nidamanuru also amassed 184 in eight ODIs in the Qualifiers, while Saqib Zulfiqur looked impressive for his 111 in six games.

Meanwhile, star all-rounder Bas de Leede is expected to be the Netherlands' trump card during the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. The 23-year-old recently amassed 285 runs and scalped 15 wickets during the Qualifiers. He also starred with the bat and ball in the Super Over, scoring 30 runs, including three sixes and as many fours. He then bowled out WI for just eight runs in five balls.

Similarly, Vikramjit Singh will look to shine with both the bat and ball. The all-rounder amassed 326 runs and scalped six wickets in the tournament.

Logan van Beek will look to deliver with the ball, having scalped 12 wickets in eight ODIs during the aforementioned tournament. Among active players, Beek is also the currently leading wicket-taker for the Netherlands with 34 wickets in 25 ODIs.

In the bowling unit, Ryan Klein took nine wickets in six games in the World Cup Qualifiers. Aryan Dutt and Vikramjit Singh also scalped seven and six wickets, respectively.

The Netherlands have also included experienced players in the form of Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann for the 50-over tournament. The duo was not part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier but have played in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Ackermann is one of the leading run-scorers for the Netherlands, while van der Merwe is popular for his all-round performance.
