New Zealand win their record-breaking third Rugby World Cup

New Zealand, after winning the Rugby World Cup finals against their neighbours Australia, became the first team to win the highly coveted trophy on three different occasions. The All Blacks, who won the very first trophy, also happen to be the only team to retain their trophy, after defeating Australia 34-17.

While the team will cherish their historical feat, the victory was New Zealand’s way of getting even with Australia for the Cricket World Cup defeat. So here is what several famous cricketers around the world had to say about the highly emotional Rugby final.

Although Tim Cahill is a footballer, he deserved to be mentioned as he was also a player who represented his country in a World Cup 

New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor kept his message shot and simple, but his emotions were quite clear.

Although South Africa, who also have deep ties with Rugby, was unable to reach the finals several cricketers who were a fan of the sport congratulated the Kiwi’s for their tremendous victory.
