Cricketers take to Twitter to celebrate Onam
After the festival of Eid which was celebrated all over the world yesterday, today marked another festival – Onam, which is being celebrated all across India, especially in Kerala. Onam marks the commemoration of home-coming of the King Mahabali. In Kerala, it is the festival celebrated with most number of cultural elements such as Vallam Kali, Pulikali, Pookkalam, Onathappan, Tug of War, Thumbi Thullal, Kummati kali, Onathallu, Onavillu, Kazhchakkula, Onapottan, Atthachamayam etc. Onam is reminiscent of Kerala's agrarian past, as it is considered to be a harvest festival.
A lot of Indian cricketers, both – Men and women, took to twitter to express their wishes and wish us all a happy Onam.
